James did another album cover for the band Here Holy Spain. Check this out!
You can find out more about the release dates, listen to some of their music, and even find out where they're playin' next on their MySpace profile. (Yes, people still use MySpace... well, bands mostly, but that's what it was originally for anyway!)
If you're on the other side of the pond, get ready for an ultra-rare European appearance for James! He's been invited to attend the festival gotico y terror de malaga... which is apparently Spanish for something-something-something-Darkside, or something like that. Anyway, James will be in Spain on February 4th - 6th at this event. If you need a passport to get into Spain, I suggest getting started on that as quick as you can!
And one last bit of news for you: It was like pulling teeth, but I finally got James to tell me more about the Author's Edition of The Crow. Actually, this dental procedure happened just over a week ago, but I decided to give the Crow fans over at Facebook a bit of an exclusive head-start. (Curiousity might kill the cat, but it just annoys the Crow's Little Helper... especially when it's in the form of a whine.) So here's what I told the James O'Barr fans on Facebook last week: James came over today to print some reference material. While he was over, I specifically asked about the Author's Edition of The Crow. He said that he recently received the latest (and probably last) proof, and once he approves it the book will go to print. This means that you might be able to buy it as early as summer. No promises... I'm only repeating what was said to me.
So there you have it! If you're not a fan of James on Facebook, I recommend getting over there and joining up!
Time to practice my Spanish. Una camisa negra y una novela gráfica, por favor. Gracias, señor Cuervo chico!
Been doin' that celebrating thing, so it's been a while since I've checked the ol' CrowHelp email. Sorry 'bout that.
So, here's two bits of Crow news to satiate your appetites until the new year. (Can you believe it's almost 2011?! And no aliens? No flying cars?! Ah, well.)
James will be at Staple in Austin, Texas! That's March 5th and 6th, so mark your calendars. Check out Staple's website here.
So far, that's the only show I have definite confirmation for... more convention news as I get it from James.
Oh, and there is one other really cool bit of news. James is working on a motion comic called Sundown with the guys over at MotionWorks Entertainment. And this isn't some conversion job! James is working on this as a motion comic from the ground up, so check it out! There are interviews with James on the MotionWorks website, so you can hear it directly from James. MotionWorks Entertainment
That's all I've got for now. Hope y'all got all the Crow stuff you wanted for Krismas, and believe in angels for the New Year!
James just sent me a link to this new book. He was commissioned to paint the cover for it, and it is awesome! I'll post a scan of the full painting without the added text soon, so watch for that! Until then, you can zoom in on the Amazon page for a closer look. (This would be a good Krismas present for the CrowFan on your shopping list!)
